Tattoos

Is it going to hurt?

Yes!

getting a piercing or a tattoo is not a painless thing. But it is worth it!

Most people agree that most piercings just feel like a pinch. It hurts for, literally, one second and then it is over.

Tattoos definitely take longer, but most people can agree that they are totally bearable.

The bottom line is that a piercing or a tattoo will feel like something- it is supposed to!- And that is a part of the process. Come in with a positive outlook and you can definitely handle it.

Can I bring my child(ren) to my appointment?

In short, no.

Some of us like kids – heck, some of us have kids – but our tattoo and piercing areas aren’t kid-friendly.  Similarly, our staff aren’t babysitters; so while children are welcome to wait in the lobby, they MUST be accompanied by a guardian AT ALL TIMES.  There are no exceptions to these rules.  Thank you for your cooperation.

What are your ID requirements?

In order to get either a piercing or a tattoo at Strange City you must provide one of the two following:

  • Piece of government issued photo identification (Driver's License*, Passport, Identification Card, etc)
  • Piece of government issued non-photo identification (Birth Certificate, Alberta Health Care, etc) accompanied by supporting reputable photo identification (School ID, Club Card, etc)

*Please note that a temporary Driver's License is not a valid piece of ID. Please plan ahead to bring a different piece of ID that complies with our ID requirements.

Does Strange City tattoo minors?

We do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18, even with parental consent. We believe that getting a tattoo is a very serious decision and if you are committed to wearing something for life, it is worth waiting for.

What is the purpose of a tattoo consultation?

Consultations are an essential part of getting a custom tattoo.  They are necessary for you to discuss your ideas with the artist, which allows for smooth sailing on Tattoo Day.  Bring reference material and an open mind.

Consultations are free and, due to scheduling considerations, are done by appointment.  To book a consultation with the artist of your choice, please call 780-628-4813.

A tattoo appointment can only be booked after a consultation with the artist has been completed and the deposit has been paid for.
